The only thing I didn't like about the bota is how loud the hst was. From what I read the noise is normal..

I read that the unit number will tell you the model year on Case units. not that it matter much but here it is, any idea?

When truly perplexed buy a decision like this I pick an amount. Say a thousand dollars, Offer to pay cash and offer a thousand less to each seller. The one who accepts has the tractor I am bringing home. If its the Kabota you can use that thousand dollars to have rear remotes added!

With a thousand hours on one and just over a 100 on the other with a few more horses I would be gravitating toward the Kabota.

Here is a data page on the DX33. It is a more deluxe tractor than the bota, with some extra features, It was made by Shibaura from 2001 to 2003. It is slightly less horsepower/lift etc. than the Kubota

Question, what range was the Kubota in? If you were in high, it will be a lot louder when placed under a load, and more sluggish also. If the parking brakes were on, even just slightly it will scream like a banshee. Don't laugh, a lot of guys have done it.

Next question, how much fine dirt work (box blading, or grading) were you planning on doing? The L3800 is not noted for having a smooth 3pt hitch. I hate to bring this up, but you are a new person on here, and I feel it would be unfair not to mention this to you. The "standard" L series 3pt hitch is not as smooth as their "grand" L series of tractors. That is how Kubota looks at it. It will make no difference to many people, and all the difference in the world to others. It depends on what you are going to do with the tractor.

Personal opinion: I think both tractors as quoted by you are overpriced.

Thanks for the input, yes I agree both tractors are in the higher price side. Around here it seems like you either pay high dollar for nice cared for tractors, pay a few thousand less for a beat down unit or there is always new and that is another $8-10,000 over a nice used unit. The better half won't let me take the full amount out of the bank and also refuses to have a high payment right now as we are going to have out wedding to pay for soon and hopefully more property shortly after!

The Case rig should do what I need to do! I would like a set of forks for the loader thrown in!

The Kubota is on the top of the list, just have to work it out with my credit union and the fiancé as all she cares about is the $ aspect!

For those prices, I wouldn't go with either tractor. I'd buy a new one with better financing and fresh factory warranty.
