2023 50 hour service

Theres a sticky post at the beginning of the LS forum that has all the filter/oil info.

I just did the 50hr service on my R4041H, a little over $110 for (6) WIX filters, change engine oil to 5W-40 for winter, and top off about a gallon of hydro oil lost when filters were pulled.

Total as a DIY was under $200.

My 50 hour service may have been overkill but was recommended by dealer to minimize LS Factory warranty problems down the road- He seemed to imply that he and I would have greater leverage re warranty work if all fluids and filters were completely changed at 50 hours- He continued to say that he and LS did not foresee any need to change all fluids for a long long long time based on my residential use and factory requirements. considering the extra labor and Hydro fluid required I don't consider $390 high.

I changed my own engine oil and filter, $13 for the oil and $8 for the filter. So another $21 on top of my $140 for a full service.

What all is the dealer going to do besides change the oil. I have about 21 hours on my 3038H and I'm trying decide if I need to drag it to the dealer for the 50 hr or if I can just do it myself.

Depends on if your tractor is a hydrostat. Mine was 2 hydro filters and 5 gallons of hydro oil. It should say specifically in your manual.

Geared tractors would probably just be engine oil and filter.

My R4041 Hydro was just all filters. (two hydro, one engine, one fuel, and two air filters)

I changed the engine oil, all filters, and topped off the hydro oil (loses about a gallon when filters are removed).

Took a little over an hour.

I think changing air filters and fuel filters at 50 hours is a waste of good money.

Yea at 50 hrs probably, but I had them and its done.

I bought the tractor used with 58hrs on it so I thought it best to do them all while I was at it.
