This started as a good and interesting thread that some of you HAD to pervert into a political thread...
I hope the TBN management bans some of you...some were already banned from the Friendly Politics forum a while back.

I thought that I could see this coming............but I am sorry that it did! Strong opinons without equally strong reasoning are very difficult to manage. Might be one of the reasons that a lot of farmers chew a long piece of grass..and talk slowly. I can recommend chewing hay a lot, in cases like this topic became. But I still like this forum best of any.:reading:

You are right Roy, it always seems like just a handful of poster are able to shut down a TBN Thread by ignoring the rules. You would think that the moderators could enforce the rules on the violators instead of a total shutdown.

I think that the moderators do, for a large part, try "pruning" a thread before chopping. In the end, most of the closed threads have become repetitive arguments and name calling for the sake of arguing and name calling, with nothing new being brought to the party.

In the end, it is very few threads that end up this way, but that's the way it goes....

I really enjoy having intelligent discussions with people who have an opinion that differs from mine. I like to try to understand why they believe what they do. Unfortunately, it (the intelligent discussion) seldom happens. :( :(

The beliefs of many people are based on emotions. It is very hard to change feelings by using facts. That may just strengthen the feeling by having to defend it. It would take a stronger emotion to change it.

We have likely all heard the stories of the gun owner who sells all after an accident, or an anti-gunner who buys one after a mugging.

It is amazing how so many subjects eventually (or quickly) evolve into political discussions. Not just here but everywhere. We are a divided nation.

Ford v. Chevy causes hard feelings.

Green v. Orange v. other colors causes angst.

Red v. Blue states.

Oh well.

College football tomorrow and that never causes any arguments!:)

I followed it, but never commented on the thread. Anything about guns seems to get political, and it is worse in the winter. I was surprised when religion got introduced.
