If you google TimeSert (after market plug replacement kit) and look at the instructions it says the repair kit covers Ford engines- 4-6-8-10 cylinder from 1993 to 2004.
That's a very flay learning curve!
But they fixed the problem (after 11 years) just that the new design breaks off when changed!

That's why my 97 V10 E450SD MH cost $750 to replace all the plugs and one coil pack...Needless to say, I don't own it anymore.

Are people concerned about this 2.7 liter having spark plug issues?

Why would this be?

That was one of the main issues. They weren't torqued to specs, and with the small number of threads, they would just let loose. However, if torqued properly, the number of threads were just fine to hold them in place. But yeah, when you have millions of vehicles on the road, there are bound to be issues with some of them.

Also I bet when a lot of people changed the plugs they did it on a warm engine and pulled some threads.

Right. The Ford 5.4 was a great engine for it's time. No excuses needed for that engine.

Actually, all the modular family was pretty good compared to what they replaced....302, 351 and 460...those older engines weren't bad though.

Let's not forget the 300. I'm certainly biased, my first car was a 225 slant six in a Valiant, and I've loved I6s ever since.

Can't be in a hurry, but it'll get you there every time.
