Hello, I'm new to the forum and I wanted to know if anyone may have some info on running a log splitter on a 2210D? Just trying to see if anyone has a setup or if these lil tractors have enough guts to run one. Thanks.

if you can find a pto pump to use on the splitter it should work fine...then you dont have to worry

Since you have a low GPM, I would recommend this valve for your splitter.

It is made by Prince for your particular situation.

It will take up to about 4 GPM and make it around 24 GPM for fast action.

It is an LSR-3060

I want to do the same thing and have looked around a bit. Northern has a 22 ton splitter. In the question and answer section someone else had already asked what the minimum GPM was for that splitter and here is what they answered.

This Powerhorse 3-Pt. Horizontal/Vertical Log Splitter does not have a minimum GPM (gallon per minute) requirement. However, the cycle time is affected by the GPM rating. At 4 GPM the total cycle time would be 35.42 seconds.

Just for comparison, they also sell a 22 ton splitter with it's own motor and hydraulic system that has a cycle time of 11 seconds.

Again,Thanks guys for the info I'll look into that high speed valve J-J.I've also looked at the PTO driven splitters but I think I would rather go with the hydro instead.

Hello and welcome cmartinga, from another Nrth Ga member,
I think the suggestion was to use a (PTO driven) hyrdaulic pump, This type of pump will produce a variable of pressures, depending on the pto speed setting,
One other thing to look for would be a fully self contained splitter that has the control valve and reservoir built onto it,
This would make it as easy as simply slipping the pump onto the PTO shaft , of course hitching to the 3 pnt's and start splitting, needing Not having to tap into your tractors hydraulic system in order to instal a control valve,

Thanks deepNdirt, yeah I guess I should've been more clear.I understood abt the PTO pump, every splitter I've seen or ones that you could order the PTO kit with are very expensive.I was trying yo go some what cheap.I think the splitter that Winston1 shared the link too and with the valve J_J showed and some fitting that connect to my tractors hydraulic pump from Hoye tractor it may make a nice little set up.for around $1100 or a lil more.I would love to find a PTO driven splitter but I'm not having much luck without breaking the bank,NY tractor has a loader on it also so I could use those hoses connections if need be.Do you use a 3 point splitter on your Yanmar deepNdirt?

No! I don't have a 3 point splitter, although had considered one before finding out my tractor's Pump wouldn't produce enough GPM to run one efficiently, it wasn't until lately when I researched more info on a 3 point splitter and found some being self contained, with having built in tanks and control valves and were driven by an add on PTO pump, If I were to have one it certainly have to be one of these kind, Not the standard ones that require hooking into the hydraulic system of my tractor,
