Chain snafu, and new review for tirechains.com

/ Chain snafu, and new review for tirechains.com #21
I've put the chains that came with my machine on 3 times already and removed them.
These are new chains from previous owner and have not been d-linked to fit.
Like Jay said, you need a machine shop to get these things to properly fit,
I don't have the time or the patience to install these again, mostly "the patience",
Why can't these things come "ready to throw on" for your specific tires.
I'll need a grinder, torches or a welder etc, etc to get these darn things to fit on easily.
These chains were "custom" made for 12.5x18 R4's, so they say....

Simply because tire dimensions vary due to brand, tread style, specific tire model and tire wear. Additionally chain manufacturers minimize chain part numbers by ensuring a single chain part number fits as many tire sixes as possible. Go buy a $19 4" grinder and 2 cutoff wheels and size your chains properly. Could have been done already.

I hear what your saying, but...
I already have all the tools needed , grinders, welder, torches etc....
my point is, that not all of us are capable of doing these types of modifications,
and shouldn't have too.
When you but a set of 4 to 5 hundred dollar chains, you shouldn't have to modify them,
adjust for tire wear, yes, I can understand that. IMHO

New tractors shouldn't break down.
Food shouldn't carry disease.
Politicians shouldn't lie.

Happy Thanksgiving.
