I have an idea on improving the seat suspension on a 1026R

My spring install went perfectly. I was all set to spend a couple of hours on the project but only took about 15 minutes. The result is a night and day difference. No more bottoming out but yet not too stiff so that you don't move. The John Deere engineers who designed the seat suspension system should have explored at least a heavier spring option from the beginning. PSRumors, you did a great job making up for what Deere should have done. You have a great product, reasonably priced, and its shipped fast as well. Thanks for saving my lumbar spine.

So how did the spring installs go? You all like them?

I love the springs. So does my back.

The installation was easy (2nd attempt) after I learned from the gentleman who sold me the springs about removing the cap screw bolts (bottom front) of the seat frame

My first attempt included an hour long search for the plastic piece that holds the top of spring in place. I tried to compress the spring enough that it would slide into place. My pry bar slipped and the piece went flying.

Thanks for developing the springs.

PM sent to you
After a 2 hour install (my border collie kept throwing his ball at me) just kidding took more time to paint the new springs than to install them, about 15 minutes. And what a difference the seat only bottoms out on large bumps now Much Better!!!!!!

Thanks much I appreciate your help

seat mod springs???

PM sent to you

I am new to this forum but am a proud 1026 owner. I have been looking to improve springs.. How much are the springs? I would like to get some. I also would like some help with modifying the chute on my 47 inch snowblower. Does anyone have step by step instructions. I have been looking on the site but have not seen any detailed directions. I did the seat mod and the RIO mod and love it. Just need to fix the seat ... thanks :D
