Buy a decent tire gauge

This thread got me looking into a new air gauge and I ended up with a neat little digital one from Sears. It has a little trigger on it that allows you to release air, 5-99psi, and it 1/2 price right now.

When I had filled tires I kept a separate gauge for them and it was just an inexpensive pencil type gauge. I kept my good gauge for everything else.

Then why bother? Might as well us a pencil gage for the front.

On the farm I had two tires that were loaded and probably 50 that weren't. The good tire gauge read accurately in half pound increments and I feel sure that accuracy extended tire life and condition. The salt and or water solution wasn't something I wanted in that higher quality and more costly gauge. The pencil gauge never lasted long with the salt and was accurate enough for a tractor rear. But that's just me.

Thats what I got.

I bought one of those gauges from Harbor Freight where you can add air and read the pressure at the same time. It was 5 lbs off. While I was comparing it to two other gauges that I have and discovered this, it promptly broke right there in my hand. This one definitely sucks.
