Anyon add a 3rd function to a Ford/NH 3930 or similar?

Yes. Fasse has a 4 port electric diverter valve that splits an existing function (bucket circuit) for 3rd function capability. Kit comes with a weather resistant momentary switch and the valve defaults to normal function in the absence of power from the switch. Have sold 2 and designed the installation of one of those on a 4610. With proper attention to detail the kit makes a nice installation.

Rick, he wants a true 3rd function system for whatever reason.

MVR, what's the deal with your cute little "confused" emoticons and your smart comments? I asked a question and you start quoting prices. Does it bother you that I wanted a true 3rd function if it was possible? I didn't know if I had an open or closed circuit, apparently it's upsetting you? Thanks for the help though

I use smilies to communicate expressions, or tones. Pretty hard to do that in simple plain print.

As far as prices, simply giving you info. If I was not a supplier, most people would think that it was great that a person had posted what they had found during their research. Just trying to save you some time.

Like I said earlier, I don't care what style you get, it's just that a LOT of people think that they want a true 3rd function when they don't really even realize why, just that it's cool to be able to operate 3 functions at the same time.

You said that it was for a grapple, would you actually make use of using 3 functions at once while using a grapple? Maybe so, I know that I sure would not want to even if I could. Why would a person want to lift and curl a grapple before it was closed? So that more stuff can fall out and they can have more seat time.

As far as what type of hydraulic system you have, I don't know and don't care, both types were available and I let you know that just in case you were not aware of it, so until you are able to determine that, I'm not sure how much help anyone can be to you.

Good luck with your research. ;)

Your tone implies a cocky response, which isn't at all helpful. Seeing that I posted a specific question about a specific tractor that you're admitting you don't know the answer to, why get smart about it?? Good business sense as a vendor? I think not. Good etiquette as a member.......naaahh. Please don't contaminate and clutter the thread. Maybe you can reply to RickB's post and educate us??

I hope you are familiar with the Ford hybrid hydraulic system he has. I'd be real interested in seeing your offering....

What hybrid system? We don't even know which system he has? If he has a closed center system, I have a setup for him. I can't help someone that doesn't know what they have though.

"We" don't ,but "I" do. Happy's tractor has the optional dual pump hydraulic system. By calling that a closed center system, you are simply broadcasting how little you know. The tractor has two fixed displacement (read open center) gear pumps and closed center load sensing remote valves (note 'load sensing', look that up) fed by a priority valve/unload valve combination that responds to a signal fed back from the remote valve upon demand. This system doesn't fit in either the open center 'box', nor the closed center 'box'. If you read specs from TractorData.com or similar online resources that are almost correct, then order off the shelf components from a catalog for this application, you and your customer are quite likely to be in for an education.
You might consider backing down the holier-than-thou attitude, swallow hard and actually learn something. If you are proposing to sell components that DO NOT split an existing function or DO NOT plug directly into an existing remote valve to install a 3rd function on a Ford with this system, you need to demonstrate more savvy than you have so far.

Rick, I'll be the first to say that I am not familiar with his tractor what so ever. I did offer a 3rd function diverter system that would get installed on the work port side of his loader valve. I prefer diverters to true 3rd function systems simply because the controls are easily feathered.

Ok, he do does not want a diverter system, fine no big deal. So you are telling me that he has this hybrid system, There is no electric valve that is compatible with this type of system? A closed center valve will not work? Please confirm if you can so that no more time and effort is spent on this.

Thank for your time with this. ;)

Please fill me in so I don't dig any deeper. I don't care one way or the other, I was simply trying to help the guy out when he said that WR Long would not.

That will certainly work, no question. That is the type of installation I prefer as well. Installed in this manner, OC/CC matters not. It is highly likely the OP will end up here.

It is impractical to tie into the remote valve supply circuit of this system. A CCLS (also known as a PFC) valve would be required, either manual or electric. What the OP wants and what he needs to settle for (and in all likelihood be happy with) are two different things entirely. Having sufficient flow to consistently use multiple functions simultaneously is far easier said than done without compromising flow rates to or at individual valve spools.
