This in a 66-68 Lincoln MM?
A neighbor and close friend bought a new 240D in 1980 and I bought an Isuzu I-mark diesel sedan in 1981. We parked them side by side with the hoods up for comparison and they looked almost exactly alike with the Isuzu engine being slightly smaller, entirely different size and shape batteries, and the Mercedes had plastic return lines while the Isuzu had steel. And I was very much surprised at how sluggish that Mercedes was compared to the little Isuzu.
Correct! This is a 67.
My first car was a 69 caddy with a 472 4V. That thing was a beast. I never checked mpg back then but it was probably lousy.
The trunk was big enough that 4 guys could go duck hunting and easily stow 4 bags of decoys, waders and shot guns.
My favorite engine was the 5.0 in the 93 Mustang I had. With 9 lbs of boost from a centrifugal supercharger that thing was too powerful for whatever tires you put on it. Compared to today that 5.0 is ancient technology but that is the engine I really started to learn about computer controls on.
Had to re-read that a couple times.... I seriously thought you were saying 4 guys were duck hunting from the trunk....
Ahhh yes, the ole slant 6, simple as heck to work on, tough as nails as long as you left the radio off if it was forecasting rain and remembered to carry a spare ballast resistor with you. Had one in a Valiant 'till the body disintegrated around it.I was acquainted with the Mopar 225, 318, 360, 400, 440's mostly
