And why would the military retirements, along with the other federal employee's bennies be sacrosanct in this scenario? You really think if all this comes to pass, that you will be exempt?
While no one knows what the government is capable of doing against its people what I have conveyed to you is current law supported with 235 years of stare decisis. I think knowing who gets payed and can legally recover under law and who can't will help you plan in the future. The big issue with most, I'm sure it's your issue too, is SS. Read up. The government is not obligated to pay legally, with two votes and a signature today it could be terminated. There are no accounts being held for you, it's payed through the general fund and operates just like what you know as a ponzy scheme. And if you don't get payed your SS, legally that's not a default. No government is beyond corruption - not ours, not any. You have an immediate example of just how much damage can be done in just one stolen election.

If you choose to discount the "doom and gloom" - simply revert to history.

We've had a good run but the dream has been squandered and the country is now in a death spiral. The debt will never be repaid. The borders will never be enforced. The culture and traditions will not be preserved. The surrendered liberty and freedom will never be recovered. ------ UNTIL, history repeats itself.

That there Gold, what's it's status once a new economy is in place?

Currency; any Confederate Dollars still in use as the main daily currency?

Privetize profits, socialize loses>

Fact's without the verbiage. Nice, understandable.

If the dollar vanishes, then henchmen will be a more important asset class than gold and my advice to hoarders is to capitulate when the local warlord swings by.

FWIW, I've made so much money from people that have held your view over the last six years, that I defined the worldview over at Urban Dictionary back in 2011.

The Collapse

The Collapse refers to the nefarious end of the financial world where for reasons never fully explained, yet cherishingly held, the world of finance, commerce and organization collapses into a hybrid of post industrialized fiefdoms ruled by wandering warlords and other bad men.

After The Collapse henchmen will be a viable asset class.

We have a very good picture of what our government will do by looking at Japan since their collapse in the early nineties. In the late 80s Japan flew off of a demographic cliff after a large generation ballooned up all assets classes in the nation. Rather than allowing the nation to quickly sort itself out through natural market means. The Japanese government sought to control markets through what we see now as 20 years of various QE programs. Throughout that time Japan went through boughs of deflation and very low inflation while piling on governmental debt without much delivering or personal, financial or corporate debt. But the next rising generation was damaged by the debt by lowered job prospects, slowing home formation, and reduced growth.

That is what all western nations will be facing at different times as they fly off of their own demographic cliffs as well. For that reason, boomers, I wouldn't want to be in a position of trying to sell a McMansion in eight years in order to downsize. The time to downsize is right now while we have a market to sell into.

FWIW, we need more young people to cross those boarders and start making families here. We're very short-sighted by trying to Castle America with a walls.

You clearly don't understand monetizing debt and what means, you clearly don't understand the size of the borrowing, you clearly can't see what's being done has no historical precedent in our history. Clearly you don't see the government isn't taking any position to improve the situation but is actually continuing to add to the problem. You haven't made a dime, your money is just worth less. HS

Rather than enticing more young people to cross the border, wouldn't it be better if we put the people to work that are already here by cutting off government subsidies to them? After we have a real unemployment number of under 5% then we can go looking for more young people from outside the country.

What do you think?

I think we need to enforce the law, deport them all, it IS possible. Enforce the border with deadly force. It'll stop real fast. Stop letting more emigrate, take a forty year breather to let those here legally become Americans. We didn't let one person emigrate between the 1920's and 1960's. That stops it to, knowing no one is getting in for 40 years. HS

My My My lookie here. All Liberals have MORE MONEY in their pockets today because of those evil fracking corporations. OK Liberls raise your hand and tell me how it's better for the government to have more of YOUR MONEY, or that money is better IN YOUR POCKET. Liberals did their very best to destroy fracking, which is currently employing thousands of people, which dumps money into the economy. BILLIONS of people this week have extra money in their pockets that they will spend on Christmas gifts which helps the economy.

The poor liberal communist must be breaking out in hives.

I can't wait till Oblunder comes out and takes credit for fracking and lowering the cost of oil. This big eared gay communist mulatto did his best to destroy oil in this country and thanks to CORPORATIONS, who did what they do best and brought down the price of oil.

Now for the proof that you are all being LIED TO. How many years have they said we are running out of oil that's why we needed to pay $5.00 a gallon. WELL, WELL, WELL , if we were LOW ON OIL 10 years ago then we should be low on oil today - in fact even lower so the price of oil should be EVEN HIGHER.

All lies so the government can collect a $1.00 a gallon in taxes on every gallon pumped.

Lucky you.

Here in UK, despite 2M unemployed (out of population of ~70M), we have to accept workers from the rest of Europe to do the work on a par with indigenous workers.

Now we are seeing a rise in far right parties in Europe and an independence movement UKIP in UK. It is this, the threat to the established politicians and their election chances, that has brought about change in policies here - now the governing party is becoming more like UKIP. Maybe the US needs a third party too?

Can't recall giving you any money lately so you must be on lean times.

Did the Roschilds capitulate when the warlord came calling?
