With the 6.2 liter shelved in the standard version, it will be interesting to see what engine they choose. Best guess would be the 3.5 ecoboost but the similar performing 2.7 liter might be an option depending on the size of the vehicle. I never understood why the previous version raptor was larger than a standard f150. Hopefully the size will be paired down to make it more off road worthy.

I didn't realize that it was bigger. In what ways was the previous Raptor larger than a standard f-150? Or are you just referring to it sitting taller because of bigger tires?

Wider and not available in regular cab. Both things that make it less trail worthy.

Guy at work had one --Was nice, but pretty much a slightly lifted F150..Didn't do much for me anyway. Made some noise and looked pretty nice.

Slightly lifted with a Fox suspension, bead lock tires, forward camera, and hill decent control are a few more things that separated it. You definitely notice a difference when one goes by.

It was fine..Didn't do much for me though.. We've had some cool stuff at work, but the Raptors looked too Corporate to me. Not insulting it, just not my thing.

Yeah the raptors were way to much money for what you got. They were never designed for trail rigs. They were flashy much less capable Baja trucks.

Alot of the extra is directed towards the suspension. Fox suspension components are very expensive. Less capable for work, more capable for play. Some can afford to spend the money and tear them up the next day off the road. I see the same thing weekly when I ride my dirtbike and see these 20 thousand dollar brand new atv's get unloaded, rolled and tore up within minutes. A guy I ride with ripped the front swing arm off his and the odometer had 6 miles on it. Next week he rolled it down a hill and tore most of the plastic off. Money is not an issue for many.

No argument there. That's why I don't criticize what some like..I have a Denali 1500 P/U..I'm sure some here see that as a 60k waste of money..I'm cool with that even though I feel differently.

I understand what's added to the raptor and still think it's too much money for what you get. The power wagon is a much more capable trail rig and ram doesn't change near as much for that package. Just saying the raptor option should be much less than the uncharge they charge.
