Carrying Offset Flail Mower On Trailer.......

How do you load/carry a tractor with offset flail mower on a trailer with side rails? Do you carry the flail mower on the trailer in the raised position for the whole ride or place a 4 x4 wood post across the side rails and let the flail mower rest on the 4x4? I've trailered tractors with implements in the past but never with any type of offset equipment that hangs over the side rail a foot or two. Maybe I should ride the flail mower on the front end of the trailer by itself, then lift with chains and attach to tractor at mowing location though this would involve a lot of extra work.

I do the extra work and load it onto front of trailer. If not the flail hangs off the right side of the trailer to far and I would be asking for a ticket for my 104 mile trip. Load the tractor with front loader on the flail mower. More work but safer for me and mailboxes.

Not to mention pedestrians. If the flail will raise to the vertical position then why not chain it to the tractor in the vertical position and be done with it?

Can you not load closer to one side at the back and then when you are on the trailer just angle the tractor to the opposite side so that everything fit's on the deck?

I only have a extra foot to play with on the width of the trailer but now wonder if I can take out the stabilizing pins on the rear lifts, swing the flail over to the left, then install pins? I also wonder if cutting out a small section of the trailer rail on the right side would mess up in integrity of the trailer?

If its a "landscape trailer" yes it will.
