Hi all, some days ago i've start restore my yanmar 2210d, but when i opened the engine the cylinder head was in bad condition, see pictures, i don't no what happen. Have you ideas? thanks
Looks to me like the corroded cylinder has run with coolant leaking for an extended period of time. Needs to go to the machine shop and see if it can be repaired.
Don't know. Would nearly bet the flywheel nut is right hand just because of rotation but sure don't know it for fact. Part number for flywheel nut is 124450-21530 and pulley nut is 124160-21670. Googled those but found no mention of size or which way they turn. I would think there might be enough thread sticking out to determine.
I would be more worried and concerned about were the water is coming from. The Valve Seats look in fairly good condition. I've seen a lot worse. Esp. working at a Machine shop in my late teens and early 20's.
