Are tractors with cabs becoming the norm?

Without having read through all 150 replies, I'll add this:

With the way I use my tractor, I think a cab would be huge pain in the ***.
On and off a lot doing woods/logging work having to open/close the door all the time. No to mention damage from tree branches.
Hooking up implements needing to tap the 3pt hitch lever up or down would be a real *****.

For a dedicated snow removal rig or field work, a cab would be worth it's weight in gold.

Kioti has added a remote implement control lever at the rear of the tractor so you can operate the 3pt hitch lower link arms from the ground. It's on the DK and NX series, don't know about the others. Nice feature with a cab for the reason you mention. I've really come to appreciate it, even with a quick-attach hitch system.

Geez CT,
The dash in your cab looks like command central for NASA !! What a nice rig you have. In Louisiana I'm sure you need that AC in the summer and it does get cold where you're at. I've been to NO a couple of time in the winter. Saw some snow flakes.
Enjoy the LS safely.

bigcut,

It's not quite NASA... Maybe Jr NASA Command Center... LOL!!!

I have no complaints so far. EXCEPT!!! Overseas units have fender mounted 3 point controls. USA units do not. I will check out wiring and figure out how to wire in a toggle switch to bump the three point up and down from the rear.....!!! Why LS USA is holding out, I do not know why.... The other major OEM's are placing fender three point controls... Maybe it is liability reasons... If we make our own fender controls, are we destined to be crushed? JD, Kubota, ect offer the fender control for three point tweaking...

The B50 series (B2650 and B3350) Kubotas don't have rear controls, but they do have the next best thing. Open the tilt up gas spring supported rear window then 3-point and top 'n tilt can both be operated reaching in the window without stretching. For inching forward or back you gotta open the right door and rock the pedal by hand. (I always feel a little guilty doing this as it's gotta be a felony violation of the safety rules - - but it works.

Funny thing: Kioti foreign units also have fender mounted buttons, but the units brought to the States have a big, red-handled lever on the back for raising and lowering the three point. In my case, this turned out to be a good thing as I destroyed that rear fender with an oak tree sapling.

That said, with my CAT2 SpeeCo Quick hitch and top ram, I haven't had any trouble whatsoever attaching to my 3pt bits within 30 seconds without getting out of the cab (except to hook up driveshafts and lock the Quick Hitch down on the CAT3 lower lugs).

It probably would of been nice having a cab with a heater last night while blowing snow but then I would have to worry about my beer getting warm!

What's the problem tough guy? Can't handle a hot beer? :)

My daddy always told me to keep the women hot and the beer cold.

Ice cold is the way I like my beer...
Having a tractor with no cab, and the other with cab...
The winner is? CAB all the way! But when freezing rain hits the windshield, and the tractor is still cold, you would'nt mind an open station...:drink:

Having one open and one closed with air conditioning would be great, cold beer it the summer and the winter.
