Hey guys. Today I was pushing some snow with my XR4046hc. I put an Express Steel 7ft snow box on it. Very nice quality. At one point I noticed a red indicator in lower left corner of dash display. Looked like a circle with and exclamation point in it. It went off on it's own and never came on again. Does anyone know what that symbol is? I don't have my manual yet so I can't look it up. Thanks in advance.

I going off memory but I think I have a yellow circle or it maybe a triangle with a exclamation point that comes one when you turn the key on for the glow plugs. Like I said I going off memory. But it goes out after a few seconds after the key is turned on. If its cold out i will turn the key on and off a couple times before I start it up. I not sure its this is the same thing or not but maybe.

The Circle with the exclamation point is an engine warning indicator. If there is a fault on the engine control, the light could be blinking or on continuously by itself, you should contact your dealer.

If that indicator (#8) is on at the same time as the DPF regen indicators (#22,23) is on it could mean the soot level is over 100% and the DPF is regenerating.
Took pics with phone so readable but not the best quality.
It's odd you didn't get the owners manual when you got the tractor unless you bought it used without one and I forgot. They say your memory starts to go as you get older so I can't remember every post I've read or replied to. I suffer from that CRS disease.

I just read your post that you did buy new.

I haven't seen my (#8) light come on yet but have seen the DPF lights on many times. Apparently I don't work it hard enough and it must soot up quickly.

George, you're spot on. Thank you so much. Yes, that is the symbol. I think mine was solid and not blinking. Seemed like it didn't stay on too long. I think possibly the regen symbol was on also. When I was pushing snow, about 5 inches, I was running about 1600-1700 rpms. Enough power but not an overkill. I don't think I have seen it on since but I've only run it a short time.

Yes, my fault for not getting the operators manual yet. I need to call my dealer and get it coming. Just been busy and not on the radar screen. Thanks for all the replies.

I run around 1800 RPM and plow in mid range. Our latest snowfall finally gave my tractor some work to do. Up until now its been loafing around.

The dealer told me the best thing that he was told since he is new to the DPF stuff is to keep the RPMs up a little. Maybe a minimum of 1500 or so. I know when I first got it I wanted to be gentle on mine and didnt do that and I noticed it went through the DPF cycle more often. Now I keep it up around 1500 to 1800 and I notice that it goes thru the cycle every 4 hours. Getting close to my 50 hr service that I need to take care of.
