New member looking at a k5055

Hello everyone. I am new to the forums and I had a few questions about the ls tractor k5055. I have not found much info on this model beside the factory website. K5055 « LS Tractor USA
This is new to me so I am at the beginning stages of researching difference makes models etc for a bush hogging business. With that being said I have a LS dealer in town and I was questioning him on a 30 HP and he showed me this model for the same price. 22k.
I am hearing good things about the LS brand but not this model. For the horsepower I think it's a good price but I would like it to be better. any insight on his model will be greatly appreciated.

Not to familiar with that model either. I'm sure someone will post on it. You said you were looking at a 30hp model. Just keep in mind your PTO hp will be less than the actual tractor hp. Most of your brush hog mowers will state how much pto hp you will need. A 30 hp tractor will not handle a very big one. Just a thought.

I was looking in the 30s and with 5 to 6 foot Bush Hog. Still researching to see what fits.

The K5055 appears to be a full size Utility tractor not a CUT. A far cry from a 30 hp CUT. It has the horsepower, 3pt lift and FEL lift capacity to go with that size frame. It may be what you want to pull an 8 foot rotary cutter. I am not sure what you are looking for, but if you are comparing it to most 30 hp CUTS you are comparing apples to oranges.. This is a "real" tractor. it would pick up most 30 hp CUTS and drive off with them.

While I don't have this model, I do have its cousin, the U5030. It has a shuttle shift, 16x16 gearing, and slightly different foot pedal layout in addition to 2 more PTO HP. As stated previously, this isn't a step up from the 30HP CUT, but rather a jump to a tractor. I use my primarily for haying with a little bush hogging, mostly in open fields. For tight space bush hogging I use my small Kubota (which sooner or later will probably be replaced with an LS model). Depends more on the type of bush hogging you will be doing as to the tractor you need. A smaller one gives you more maneuverability at the cost of decreased cut width and HP.

Thank you for the reply and I agree with everything that you all or saying. I do understand comparing the two different types of HP is comparing apples to oranges. What got me to this point is the price. looking at a 30's HP and the owner offers you a 55 HP for the same price. Still researching the area for work and what size is best. I can get two accounts now with open fields and I'm looking at contracts in the area to more. Used tractors in this area is like buying a new one the price is just insane.

Yep, I never had much luck buying used tractors. Most of them if well cared for maintain their value for a long time. Some guys on here have had good luck buying used and finding bargains, but I never could. Good luck on your tractor hunt.

Thanks James. I am the same way trying to find bargains it doesn't happen for me. plus it comes with a 5 year warranty. I just am trying to make sure I am not overpaying for it. All this research... its worst then looking at a new truck.

Avillahdw. Have you had any problems with this brand?
