You have a 4000 pound 4wd tractor. Get a 3pt backblade for 400 to 500 bucks and try it. Maybe even find a used one cheaper. You may need chains but maybe not. Try it this year without chains a couple times and see how it goes.The rear blade is usefull all year. I doubt you would ever need chains on the front.
If you decide you need chains, you can get them. I never needed a tool to put chains on.
I cant imagine having that tractor and not plowing my drive.
Cost effective is an ambiguous term. The most cost effective thing is let it melt next spring.
