Mowing BX25D and a 5' rotary cutter?

Does anyone out there have any experience using a BX25D or similar with a 5' rotary cutter? I'm primarily interested in mowing tall grass along fence lines. The 5' width appeals to me so I can be farther away from the fence and so I know for sure I'd be done in two passes.

Looking at the weight I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be a problem. I'm more worried about having enough power.

I have a 5' and picked it up with the BX. It was very heavy. I never have tried it on the BX. I would be worried about a 5' rotary cutter pushing a BX around. I would look at a sickle bar mower.

I use a 5' land Pride rotary brush cutter on my BX 25. It works great, no problems, sucker will chop a 3" limbs to toothpicks in a heart beat. I use the FEL on the front to knock down the big stuff and then run over with the hog.

Sorry I mislead you, I have the 4' one, RCR1548. That's what happens when you get old. I had a choice when I bought it with my BX and chose the 4' rather than the 5' as the bill for attachments was growing fast. The way my BX w/the 4' performs I am sure the 5' would work also. Check the LP web site they have a very easy one to navigate and they state HP requirements for their implements. I cut 18" high field grass all the time with out a stutter, need two passes at right angles to get it all though. Run at min 2500 RPM engine speed though.

IF you are comfortable with the weight, power shouldnt be an issue.

Mowing fence lines, you probably wont be buzzing around there at 5-6 MPH. Your tractor can go plenty slow enough for power not to be an issue.

If you don't have a fel you would need some weights on front for balance . The power should not be a problem as my 2650 is about the same hp as yours and I run a 5 ft. lp med. duty cutter .

A big, long, heavy cutter has a tendency to "throw" around the back of the tractor when turning. Lots of inertia with plenty of leverage back there with too much cutter for the machine.
