Snow Equipment Owning/Operating What You Find When Blowing Snow

No, I haven't had as much fun as you have.

Only the occasional fist-sized rock (live on a dirt road), tree limb, or small furry creatures that travel in tunnels under the snow. (Yuck!)

Same here...Many shear bolts to change, year after year... Rocks can be hard to dislodge from the fan paddles"side wall. Plus you have to scout the snow that has accunulated in front of the blower, when you stopped, for more rocks.
Winter is expansive time for me, and fortunately spring is starting to loom ahead!

I pulled 10 feet of 1/4" nylon rope into my walk behind. I couldn't believe how far I was able to throw that machine.

Went out and bought a very nice shovel after that.

Just checked the back yard and the blower never came this far. You should have thrown it a little harder! I would have traded you a nice shovel for it, and a new length of rope!

I have had more excitement with a tiller than my blower. One place I was tilling I caught a buried power cord. The owner was as surprised as I was, as he had said there were no obstructions there. The tiller had no problem pulling it up out of the ground! Another place I caught the supply line to an in ground watering control. Again, the customer had given the OK and assured me all was OK. I was only tilling about 5" deep. The worst was when there was a piece of chain in a load of topsoil that had been delivered to a customers place. It wrapped up between an outside tine and the tiller housing. As it wrapped it bent the outer housing out, pulling the shaft out of the bearing. I was able to bend it back in and get it together again, but slowed that job down. It likely could have been worse.
