Ya I think he's got some units of measurements mixed up, but I still have only found laws pertaining to axle weight ratings in Ontario
So maybe if he's not over on his axle weights on truck or trailer he's within the law?
Either way he's got a pretty nice trailer by the looks of it.

jel1988 - Whats his name? I'm 4th generation born and raised here, pretty small town, there's a good chance I know him or his relatives. PM me if u like

There's no way. Licensed for 24,000 lbs... is possible. The strongest black trailers I've seen are rated for ~ 10 ton and looking at that particular unit, it doesn't even have a deep I-beam under it.
But you can register your truck for whatever you want... sooo...
I found several (in the US at least) that are rated for 25,900# with a pair of 12k axles under them (the remaining 1900# needs to be on the tongue not the axles).

I could see 24,000 pounds. There is no way that trailer caries 53,000 pounds. (most semi low boy's are 50K lbs and 60-70K lbs require 3 axles)

but i think there is a problem with that website listing in .ca only having kilograms for weigh listed so he put in 24,000 instead of 11,100

My old 30' GN was rated for 25,000#. It had 2 12K axles.

My uncles boat trailer is rated for 24,000# and is a bumper pull with 3 8K axles under it.

Same here.

My GN is rated to haul 12T. And actual GVWR on the trailer sticker is 29k something.

That 30k towing is for the new rams. That's the older body style and most likely a 5.9. None of those trucks were rated for 15 tons. He is definitely asking for long term issues if the truck survives. stopping that kind of weight would sure be entertaining with a light duty truck.

Stopping is no issue. I have pulled 25,000 # or more dozen of times with diesel trucks. Hydraulic disc brakes over electric brakes are amazing.

That's great dp. Wait till a wire breaks Then hold on. I have hydraulic disc brakes on my 24gvw trailer and don't worry a bit about stopping it because I have a big enough truck. The international doesn't even know it's back there.

I used to have a CVOR and regularly pulled 12,000# behind a '04 2500 GMC. Unless regs have changed, yes you can license for whatever you want but can't exceed the axle weights. I was registered for 24,200 lbs which was the total of the GVWR of both the truck and trailer. I can't remember how manufacturer rating of max towing weight comes into it.

The 24,500 kg is his GCWR. 53,000# sounds WAY too high but 24,500# sounds too low.

That being said, there are plenty of options of pickup and trailer combos that will more than handle a full size backhoe. BUT, to haul that weight here, you'll need a Class A (or restricted A) and a CVOR (unless there is a CVOR exemption for farm plates I'm not aware of). MTO will be a royal pain. Although I was fully legal, I was always more concerned about them pulling me over than the cops.

CVOR also forces you to keep log books, circle check and hours of work regs come into play. From my experience, if I only wanted to move it now and then, I'd drive or hire someone to truck it to save the hassle dealing with MTO. If you'd be hauling on a regular basis, that's a different story
