Hey Guys! XR4046HC is on the way!

Would one of you happy LS owners be up to start a New section dedicated to LS Tractors? Under the "owing and operating" column.
I want to know more and learn more about this brand. From what I have seen and read, they are one of the best all around imports. Price wise, feature wise, and warranty wise, they can't be beat. I think they are superior to name brands in their own respective classes.
In my eventual quest for a new machine, LS will be my first choice, seconded by Kioti. But this is not in this year's plans...:(!

It's not ours to do. You need the powers to be to start a owning and operating.

I'm up to 12 hours and I've broken off a mirror, a light, and a 3 point hitch stabilizer. All of it my fault for doing extreme tractorin'.

The tractor wouldn't start for a day and I checked every safety switch, eventually finding the one underneath for the brake pedals. It's bracket was bent by a large stick, still jammed in the chassis. Again, my fault for the rough terrain I was turning into sawdust.

In that time I brush-hogged about an acre of honeysuckle so thick you couldn't walk or see through it. I had budgeted about a month to do all that and am almost disappointed it went so quickly...it's a blast!

All my work was done around 30F and I was having so much fun, I had the heat off and the inside of the cab was warm enough I needed to keep the rear side windows open.

I will make a separate post about Tier IV Final but...spoiler alert...I love it.

You have been busy. I wish you good luck with the LS. Don't forget to check loader, wheel bolts and any other you see.

I too am looking at an LS xr 4040 hc. my question:.
It has a tier 4 engine, it has a 5 year warranty, someone posted it has an expected life of 20,000 hours to overhaul.

Pros and Cons from users?

Not sure on the life expectancy. I can comment I am very pleased so far with mine. Oh I'm sure there will be an issue or two come up eventually. I think that will happen to any brand. I to was looking at the XR4040hc. The cost difference was so minimal I bought the XR4046hc. May want to look at that. A former co-worker recently bought an open platform John Deere around a 44ish hp. Not sure what model. I do know it's a hydro. Was told is was $35K. Deere makes a great tractor but I couldn't justify spending several thousand dollars more. I can buy a lot of attachments with that.

Thanks Blue steel. the LS4040hc has a 4 cyl engine made by Cummins/Shibaura vice a three cyl for the 3030. Marginal Hp difference but a lot more torque and heavier frame. Since I plan to grub out some scrub birch and roots with the FEL and a Tooth bar the extra grunt might be worth the difference in cost. Maybe its overkill becoz I would only usually use it for snow clearance with a six foot {Pronovost} blower. I am nowhere near a decision. I just know that I am not doing any farming or excavation with it. I just like it. Even though way cheaper than the green yellow o0r orange babies, it is still a wad for a toy.

Trying to guess the aftermarket value is not easy, that is, for now, a crapshoot. Maybe 70% of retail on a good day?

At about 60 hours a year use I'd have to look towards having the motor rebuild in 333.3333333333 years. Why didn't someone tell me this before I bought one.
