If the rainfall accumulation numbers west of here are any indication, we're in for quite a soaking!:thumbsup::dance1::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good afternoon all.Temp was 14F when I went to bed last night, 22F at 7AM this morning. Mostly cloudy with high thin overcast with some breaks. forecast for 47F, current temp. I think I finding whoever lost there wind, it is picking up here. Replaced a bad battery for a friend, moved furniture for cleaning, now going on a bike ride if I don't get blown off.

Have read over the past few months about the serious lack of rainfall in many areas and are very happy if you get a soaking.... here in mid-Michigan we tend to take rainfall for granted and I am happy when areas in need of rainfall get that !!!

0.82" so far, and it's only been raining an hour.

Satellite shows PLENTY more on the way, too. Nice to hear it on the roof again, and watch it out over the canyon.:cloud9:

RNG I say let it rain! Glad you are getting some water.

Like MG back in the mid-90's in Southern Maine we had 6-8 inches of rain in one day. It shut down I-95, ripped out a bunch of bridge culverts closing roads. Made quite the mess.

1F, not supposed to get much colder tonight. 2-6" or 4-8" of snow for Sunday-Monday depending on which forecast you read.

I didn't go snowshoeing today. It clouded up with light snow flurries and stayed below 10F until mid-afternoon when had a bit of sun, by then it was nap time. Not too much that's picture worthy out there now. Bare trees and snow.

I did by a new bird feeder and some oil seed today so I need to hang that somewhere soon. Also got a few suet cakes and need to dig out my suet wire cages.

The birds have really been hitting the feeders the last week with cold temps and they are loven the suet.

I just got in from scalping the hayfield. It took about six hours. While I don't have video, this picture does convey a little action. When it works right, the sods turns grass side up and you see very little dirt showing through.

Glad California is getting some rain. Hope you get better quick Bups.

going to watch a movie with my kiddos in the living room.

rs, a good saw is hard to beat. Blades last longer in a good saw even though they are cutting much more material.

Good morning. 0C/32F @ 8:00 am

No wind and very quiet this morning.
Only bird to be heard was a woodpecker in the far distance, tapping away to find breakfast.

I'm recovering from a mild dose of furniture shopping yesterday afternoon. Didn't find anything we liked so it's all to be repeated again another day in another store.

a much warmer 28 degrees going up to 57 today in bright sunshine. Now that's a fine Saturday. And very surprisingly considering I still have a few pools of standing water, there is a fire warning out for eastern NC due to very low humidity and drying winds, and to be careful with outside burning.

Eric, I went furniture shopping too this week, bought an Edgecomb sofa and loveseat, built right here in Pinetops NC. I picked out the fabric and in a month it should be here.
They sadly did not offer a Burberry plaid....perhaps you could get your coat of arms sewn in the back!
Might want to check with the wife first...;)

I took a nice hot shower this morning, confident knowing that the main shower drain was now connected, which apparently it had never been due to wires getting crossed/lack of GC oversight frankly, so for the last week I have sent hundreds of gallons of hot water down into the full conditioned crawl space, creating a lake a foot deep in one corner of my newly remodeled home.

You can imagine my reaction to the hvac guy, who was there to enlarge the heat ducting into the new bathroom (tile floors way too cold) and add a return in the bedroom area, and I got the Mr Drew, you have a small problem. The Anglicized version of Mister Drew, we have leetle problem.

So emergency call to the plumber, who showed up in an hour, somewhat embarrassed because they were the folks who should have hooked up the drain, but they didn't know the tile guy had cut the pipe. The GC sure did know...and this one day after the two week old cheap Chinese wax seal put down by the carpet guys laying vinyl in the small upstairs bathroom, failed, due to a cockeyed install and a wax seal that unlike the two dollar more one, medium brown vs white/clear btw, was junk compared to what the plumbers brought. So water leaking down through the hallway ceiling, luckily never dripping actually, necessitating a trip to Lowes for Kilz ,but thankfully I caught it early on. Hopefully the ceiling will dry out without issue and I can then paint over after it's totally dry.

So your lesson of the day is don't skimp with wax seals. The alternatives are not how you want to spend part of your Saturday. But the best part is I'll forget about all of it when I head out to the woods this afternoon with my loppers and chain saw. Hundred feet a day. All is good.

13 degrees right now...high will be 24 today with 1-3 inches of snow. Looks like we're back to an 8-12 inch accumulation on Sunday, followed by 5-8 more on Monday...
I believe I wrote in yesterday's GM post that the dealer hadn't picked up the 4400 yet and the snow blower was still hitched. Guess I'll need it this week.
