Hello,

finally have my first tractor, JD 790. very excited. had a question about a brush hog. have a used TSC 5' brush hog used and seems to drag the wheel on the thing. looking at it maybe have little lean to one side and didn't know if that's the issue for not tracking straight or not. not real sure about how it should be adjusted. top link tight or not, that sort of thing. any help woudl be great.

thanks,

Welcome to the forum. I'd go to TSC and look over a new one, check and compare the wheel angle on it with yours.I had the same problem with mine years ago my fork shaft was bent back way to far.

:welcome:
To the forum from Alabama. Could also be that the shaft on the wheel needs grease. On my LP cutter, it says to grease every 10 hours. They do freeze up if not greased.

Make the top link as loose as possible. In fact, I removed the steel straps (not sure what your configuration is) and replaced them with chains so the rear of the brush hog could float.

Welcome to the forum! I think you're really going to like the 790, I know I like mine a lot! Good luck with it and take the time to learn it. I think the possibilities of the problem with the tail wheel on your mower have already been answered. This place is GREAT for getting lots of free information and advice!
