I'm having issues (as is my son and daughter-in -law) with a local family who refuses to control their growing pack of dogs out/off of others property. They harass my wife, my animals (who are all housed in fences), and myself. I am now carrying my .38 and a CO2 BB pistol. First I will have at them if they get close enough with the BB gun, and if that doesn't work go bigger.

When I talked to the neighbor, the reply was "well shoot them if you have to".. Don't want to, but don't want somebody bit either.

I don't tolerate dogs bite, don't wait for a kid to get bit, put a bullet in it and bury it !usualy a skiddish dog won't attack he'll run! If you run toward him and he runs he's not going to attack, if he stands his ground put a bullet in him!

It's always better to resolve things peacefully than take a shot at the dog who doesn't know he's doing anything wrong. Animal control or the police can almost always resolve the problem if the owner won't help. Towns round here take roaming dogs pretty seriously.

Certainly if a life in in danger you need to defend yourself but there's plenty that can be done to defuse the situation rather than escalate it before it gets that far along. Just my two cents here.

I agree! I have two sweet labs I would be outraged if someone shot them, however my 4 yeAr old grandson was attacked ! I seen first had what one snap can do to a child, horrible damage from a large dog! I think it matters if there are children at risk, I'm 220 lbs and can handle myself but if my grandson is threatened again , well let's say it won't happen twice!by the way he wasn't attacked by my dogs!

Sorry, I live WAY out in the woods, and getting animal control out here is not easy (at least I've not had much luck with it). My grand-daughter is 6, my grandson is 3 and NO, I am NOT going to have them bitten, especially when the owner could give a rats ***** less about doing the right thing. That's my 2 cents...

Do what yA gotta do, don't second guess yourself if the dogs are aggressive with children out in the yard put the dogs down! Dog ain't worth a kid attacked

Had this same problem when we living in the city on a 3 acre tract. Nicely, but very firmly go to them you are a pet lover too but to keep their animals out of your place that you dont want their animals taking a crap on your place. Give them a week or so to handle the situation. After that if they havent took care of the problem, fire off a couple shotgun blanks when their dogs come around, usually they will get the point. If they dont after that, there are more other options available to you but hopefully they will get the point and take care of their animals. All in all some neighbors usually are a pita.
