As anyone here used Bestline additives? I'm not usually a big fan of additives, but my Ventrac/Steiner dealer Tony talked me into taking a harder look at them, if it had been anyone else I may not have looked, but I've known Tony a long time, this man is one of the best mechanics and all around guys I've ever met.I trust him,and he taught me all I know about Steiner and Ventrac hydraulics. I've bought machines and attachments from him,and he is jot only a great dealer, but I consider him a great friend as well. thanks to him,I have been using bestline products across the board. I figured I'd put this here,I am especially Impressed by the No Squeek ,and power train additives.Tony and I have both noticed a marked improvement in the smoothness and noise reduction in both Steiner and Ventrac hydraulic systems by using about a quart and a half in the hydro system. I personally went to the shop and Tony did oil tests right in front of me,I brought my oils to try,and they didn't even come close to the bestline products.

Are you talking about a comparison between Amsoil and Bestline ?
I had never heard about Bestline until I looked at this thread.

Hi, RD.

I have not tried them. The only additive I have used so far is Power Service White Formula, for the diesel fuel. But I am a newbie and am all ears (and eyes). I will watch the videos.

Best,

John

I watched the videos. Some of the commenters question the methodology... differing treatment of the bearing surfaces when the demonstrator is using products other than Bestline. After rewatching the videos, they may have a point.

I think their point has some merit.

Where and how does the No Squeek get applied, RD? If I follow you correctly, the Power Train additive gets added to the hydraulic fluid? Do you drain some of the hydro fluid to compensate for the increased volume now in the system after adding the Power Train additive?

Best,

John

NO! Do not mess with your hydraulics! That is on a 2000 hour change cycle. Needs to be kept very clean.

I added it to mine when I serviced it,I changed both filters filled th front one with Bestline and I use amsoil 5w30 hd hydraulic oil.at the golf course,I simply added 16 oz to each machine at first, huge difference right away especially in the steiners,a good portion of the pump whine was diminished.as for no squeak it's a light oil that can protect things beyond what you can imagine.

How many hours did you have on your Ventrac when you changed the hydraulic oil?

I had maybe 50, but I bought it used. With 540 hrs and this machine was run hard by its original owner, and had a few hoses replaced, who knows what oil they used ,probably hydraulic oil because it's was clear, and I doubt they ponied up for amsoil .
