My brother divorced and ended up dating online. He met a nice woman that had been single with a great job her whole life. He had nothing for retirement but now they live very comfortable on hers. He was lucky (to answer the OP question).

I didn't get married until 30. I made some very bad decisions about women before that, but getting married wasn't one of them. Crazy women are often really hot. Unfortunately their "hotness" will diminish over time. Crazy is forever.....

I'm 30 and we've been together for 10 years and have 2 kids together, I guess it's about time. We're just doing a courthouse thing and she's fine with that, so I guess it goes along with the being frugal theme here.

I'm a Christian. I applaud you. The ones that jump in and out of everything that comes along producing kids the whole way need lecturing. I don't see that you've done anything wrong. The end result is the prize, not necessarily the road there.

I'm not intending to lecture either - but - that comment is outrageous, from a Christian point of view. Believe me, as I point one finger - there are 3 others aimed at me.

Sex outside of marriage is sin. Maybe that's not a popular thing to say these days but truth remains truth. It is not subject to social attitudes. Yes, what was done is definitely WRONG. The Good News, there is forgiveness in Christ. We have all sinned. We all need forgiveness.

Having said that - I congratulate you on your upcoming marriage. I pray that you will place Christ at the head of your relationship and keep Him forever present in your family.

And as much as I agree that it has it's place...it's best not to bring it up here. Not pointing a finger at anyone, but I have seen far too many promising threads closed for that reason.
