With the first option I get a beating but, I have a new ranger. With the second option I get to develop a real connection with my soul mate, my best friend, (you know, those words that are used today) and exchange thoughts and ideas on important issues the come up from time to time in a marriage. Mind you, I will not have the new ranger, but I will much feel much closer to my mate.

I guess it all depends on your relationship and financial situation. Money is not an issue for my wife and me and we have separate expendable funds. I don't question her expendable funds, she doesn't question mine. If money is tight in your situation and/or you need to be saving money, I would not buy an expensive toy without making sure you have an agreement and really need it. If you can afford the toy and it is not going to be detrimental to your relationship, you be the judge of that. How much $ are we talking about anyway?

The tractor its self. Hmmm if it was still Green cabbed say a 4720 she would never notice but if i stepped up to a 5000 series she would notice the size jump and the controls are totally different . haha

OP here... I was just about to pull the trigger on an implement and in the spirit of this thread I texted my wife, described the implement and what we need it for, and asked if she was OK with this implement. She responded " OK, if you feel good about it". While my text to her probably wasn't necessary, it did feel good to have the discussion. I have a good wife!

Some people describe a new tractor as an implement. Now is your chance if you were at all vague in your description.

Not a tractor, but when I bought the 06 Chevy 1500 pickup we have now, the wife was in the hospital 80 miles from home & had been for a few days. I picked up a newspaper & noticed a dealer's ad for a pickup that I thought might be a possibility. When I went out for dinner (noon), I went to the said dealer's lot for a look-see. Didn't want that one, but saw the one I bought, took it for a drive & salesman drove mine, decided on a price, called the wife at the hospital & told her I'd found a pickup! Drove it home that night & spent the morning the next day getting all my stuff out of the old one. She only say it at a distance for several more days!

In my defense, she did know I was looking!
