Sort of related to this thread,...but not quite. My favorite uncle is hard working and very frugal. Also a man of few words, but what he says he means. He carries("takes" for those not familiar with Southern English) his wife Bess to the grocery every Friday. He drops her off to shop and he goes to the tractor dealership around the corner to "look" and he comes back in a hour or so to pick her up. This has been happening for most of the 31 years they've been married. On the ride back home he sometimes mentions a new tractor model they had on the lot or a nice looking used trade in they had. She always tells him he doesn't "need" a new tractor, no more is said. Well last Friday on the way to the grocery Uncle Wayne said he needed to stop at the bank for a second first. Then the same routine, drop off Bess at the IGA and over to the dealership, back to pick her up in a hour or so. After he loaded the groceries in the truck and got buckled in he said "Yea know they have a CaseIH C95 with a Cab and FWA in at the dealership." She replies as always, "But you don't need a new tractor." He replies, "32 years ago when I asked you to marry I didn't "need" you but I "wanted" you." .......They delivered his new tractor today.
