Could not lift bucket in 13 degree weather

I just took delivery of a new CK35 and put a few hours on it Sunday, the temps was about 26F and mine did the same think when I first started out with it. I pushed into the snow drift and tried to pick it up and nothing, the bucket would not curl up either. This happened several time for the first 10-15 minutes and this is after a 10-15 warm up. I kept working with it and it this went away, it seems after it further warmed up the loader had more power. I did have one instance of the lever locking up and freed it by fiddling with the lock. Not sure if it was not in the proper unlocked position or what. I racked it all all up to new operator error but reading this it and an other thread here It seems that some tractors don't like the cold too much.

It is not normal.. Mine is the DK, but I operated it the other day in the low teens, No problem. BUT water can get in the cables and freeze up. Mine stays in the dry most of the time. so not as likely. Water is getting into something if it is "frozen" up. because hydraulic fluid does not freeze at those temps. But water sure does.

I didn't even know there was a lock on the joystick. But anyway, when the temp got up close to 30 it worked fine so I guess that was the issue. I was telling my tractor guy about it and he said definately before the 50 hour checkup between the debri in the fluid and the cold fluid it may get hard to impossible to push it through some screens.

Right now the grapple is on the ground and I can't move it because it's digging. I haven't been able to idle it for 15 minutes yet...maybe that'll do it.

The handle to lift the loader feels like it's welded or something...no up and down movement at all.

The cans on the bottom of the valve may have moisture and froze.

You can use a hair dryer temporarily, but you need to clean, lube and make sure the weep hole is a the bottom so any moisture can drain.

:thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Not a "hydraulic" problem, a linkage problem. I have the same problem, but purposely don't fix it , cause when it's that's cold, it forces me to let the tractor warm up while I unthaw the cans.

Mine operated fine once it was warm so I figured that the fluid just needed to warm up. Could have been a little frost in the fluid form the cold temps and it being a new machine that has been sitting unused for a few months. It may have also been the lock interfering with full motion of the joy stick as it locked up after about an hour of use. Fittelled with the lock and the joy stick was free. I will probable get it out this weekend again and see how it works now that it has had a bit of use.

I know another person who uses that term.

Thaw means to melt. Unthaw means to do the opposite of melt. In other words....freeze.

Sorry, I don't mean to be a grammar ****. I just find it an interesting word...or maybe non word.

In (**** free ) North America unthaw means the same thing as thaw. (Thank you WWII veteran's.)

Sort of like inflammable and flammable mean the same thing. Like shrimp can be jumbo - Well, maybe that's not the same....

Mine froze where the cables go in to the valve body. I let the thing run for 15 min and tried forcing it. It is in the shop getting a new cable end ordered. That sucks.
