...I must be old as I had to program my first micro's (Rockwell 6502, later 8085 & TI micro's), using a paper and pencil to write in MACHINE CODE.
High Tech in those days was the ability to save the binary code as FSK tones on a cassette tape. Assembler came along later in life... ;)

I worked on a Sperry/Univak UYK-20 on my submarine.I programmed it in OCTAL-LOL!!!!

We must ALL be old farts!

LOL!!!

T... though I still prefer a clutch on the motorcycles as there is less to break.

I prefer the clutch, seat, view, etc from one of my Harleys to EVERYTHING else I can ride... 'cept that one thing... :D

There's a big old nasty storm headed up the coast on radar, lots of yellow, must be raining like crazy.
And snowing in the mountains. 36 degrees still here, 3-5 inches of snow possible turning to rain, or hopefully mostly rain here. I'm quite happy to have Raleigh get dumped on...;)
going to be an interesting night. Batten down the hatches.

yeah. again.

19F headed to 1F tonight.

The sun was good today and it hit freezing so I hosed the filthy car down and used a soft washing brush on it. It was probably 37-38 in the sun and the snow banks kept the breeze off me. Left a few streaks but not bad for car washing in winter. I have filled a 5 gal. bucket with sand swept up from the garage floor that is carried in the snow that melts off.

I started Stephen King's Revival today; a good read as usual from King.

dave1949...around these parts you would that much SALT rather than sand...if the salt did not dissolve. I have salt deposits almost a half inch thick in the garage.

They mix some salt with the sand here. The sides of the car get coated in brown sand dust, little piles of sand build up on the running boards. The tailgate is coated. I have some salt lines on the floor too and you would never dump this sand in your garden. I save it for when the driveway gets icy and it can be tracked into the garage again. :D

11 now, going to 4 or 5. Spent the day taking the ceiling out of a 1880 basement. Tongue and groove, random widths, some over 12 in wide. I'd save some, but the old guys sure didn't scrimp on nails!!!! Interesting building, real 2 x 12's for floor joist's, notched into each other. A lot of the lumber seems to be oak, probably locally milled.
