Wild Turkeys anyone?

We go on bird hunts all the time , driving around just looking . We have seen a flock up the road in two places by the river, thought it was the same flock moving maybe 5 miles . Yesterday we saw it's at least 2 flocks 50 at one spot 100 at the other . When we got back home 20 more 1/4 mile from the house. ---Trevor

2Lane, I had 80 ac in Arcadia just off 66 and loved the area. We sold and left due to an Adverse Possession issue with a neighbor. But we sold to a Dr who is a great friend now and has contributed more to the land and area than I could in a life time.
I only saw coyote and snakes on the 80 acres. It had a creek (flowing North) on East Side and Deep Fork River on the North. Here on our VA land we have everything including bear who tore up my UTV! I love land anywhere and have cameras throughout the VA 112 acres to see what is there.

I never fail to have a flock. Usually 30 birds or so around my place all the time. Gobblers full strut on the lawn in the spring fanning their tail feathers and gobbling like crazy. Then later the hens show up usually 3 or 4, with little flocks of 6 or more poults each. Cold wet Springs sometimes have detrimental effect on how many hatch. In the summer I watch them grow from a ball of fuzz most all summer then one day it just like they triple in size lol!

Normally they fly down from the big pines that they roost in at night around my place and then walk single file. Its funny to watch them freak out when something changes like leaving a garden hose laying across their normal travel path. They don't know what to do :laughing:

The snow is so deep this year they have taken to flying longer distances to reach open plowed ground and especially my neighbor's bird feeder.

Sitting in the house (I have really big windows) and whoosh something huge and dark goes by then another and another and another and so on. What a sight
