Thinking of selling Yanmar 1700D- How much?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer tractor with a backhoe attachment, etc. Something newer with ROPS, etc. My Yanmar 1700D runs very well, has a new radiator, hoses, battery, etc. I'm not sure what to ask. It could use paint, and is older from the late 70's. Not sure if I should sell it WITH all of the attachments, or separate everything. Would like to maximize what I can get because I will be spending quite a bit more to upgrade. As mentioned, it is a 1700D with front loader, and I have a barely used 4' brush hog, landscape rake, and back blade. I'm in western WA where everything is more expensive, but I certainly don't want to overprice it either. Any thoughts?

Yanmar 1700D "Money Pit"

What kind of backhoe? If it's Yanmar's tiny one sold for YM186D etc, I might be interested.

Nah, I'm good with "money pit." I put a ton of money into this tractor. It's got new tires, too. I don't have a backhoe, I am wanting to upgrade to a newer tractor with a backhoe attachment, etc. I like this little tractor, but I need something a little bigger and newer, with easier shifting, etc.

well there is several on CL around me with attachments or not for bwtween $2800-3200. none with loaders. they been there a few weeks too

There are backhoes that could fit and work with your YM1700D. But the 2cly may take too long to be responsive enough.

Your tractor is an odd one for being over here. The YM1700 series has the 2TR17-A engine I believe. Hoye does list many parts for your model. That's a good thing.

I'll have to agree with clemsonfor, between $2800-3200 used depending on the shape it's in. If in good shape with the FEL, you could press towards $3500 in my area.

Thanks for the replies. I have just been using her lately. I was looking at some new Kubotas, but I'm not sure I'll get my money's worth out of them just to be able to run a backhoe once in a while, and have all the new bells and whistles. May just keep using this old gal. She runs well.

$2800-$3200 is 2wd prices. I would think more like $5000 for your 4wd with FEL, in good working condition.

Maybe. Depends on the are he is in and like he had mentioned, if he did let it go, he needs money fast for the new tractor.

In my area it's all over the map for a 2wd vs. 4wd. The prices between these two are not good to compare. However, a tractor with a FEL commands much more. Guess down here in the south 4wd isn't a high demand. Tossing in a box-blade gets about $500 more. Tossing in a bush-hog usually is for those who can't get rid of the tractor. Since he's in WA state, maybe 4wd could offer a benefit. The downside is the 2-cly engine vs. a 3-cly. His 2-cly is beefy though. Similar to a JD 650 Yanmar engine.
