That thing does a NICE JOB!! Almost makes me wish I had more to mow so I could get one! :)

It was probably almost a let down to have to take the new mower off to put on the PHD. I know that when I've gotten new attachments I just want to keep them mounted and find everything possible to do to use them.

Just out of curiosity, what other brands/models did you consider before buying the Caroni (if any)?

I started by looking at rotary cutters, Land Pride, TSC, and a couple others.. dont remember what they were.. then switched my thinking to flail, looked at a used Mott and a used Alamo but for about the same money I could get a new Caroni. Seems everyone that has one and has had theirs a while really liked their Caroni and no major problems other than the pain of changing blades so I went that way. I never did find a bad review on one. And there just isnt a lot of competition out there without tripling the price.

Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking. I've been running a combination of a 6' rotary cutter, and a 90" finish mower, but I think I'd be happier with just a flail at this point for everything. I've been considering selling both, and buying a flail, but they get pricey very quickly!

You know, this one was right at 2 grand delivered.. I didn't think that was so bad considering the cost of rotary mowers these days. A decent one of those is $1300 and up it seems.

Yeah, I just wish Caroni made one a size larger. I really like how the 90" finish mower lets me cover ground more quickly than the 6' rotary mower, so I'm looking at the 87" Phoenix TE that EA sells, but it's quite a bit more expensive....ouch!

I am considering purchasing a Caroni Tm1900. Could one of you guys/gals that has one measure how wide it is for me? I have a bridge to cross to get to one of my mowing areas that is 84" wide between railings. I can barely squeeze my 6' MC flail through. May need to drop down to a 5' if it is too wide. Thanks!
