3 point not working now, I was out plowing snow using a front blade & a 3 point rear blade, worked ok, parked it, jumped on it the next day & the 3 point will not lift, took off the rear blade & still nothing. I did find a loose hydraulic hose at the top of the rearend were the backhoe hose tee's into and & tighten it up, fluid is full & everything else works. Anybody have any ideas what is wrong ? I thought maybe a air lock in system but a ran the tractor using the front blade for an hour or so & still nothing.

Did you check the nob between your feet to slow or lock the 3 point ?

Yes, tried the knob that adjust the rate of drop, 3 point will not go up. stuck in lowest level. Arms are free moving as I can pick them up.

I have had the same issue once because the hoses for the BH were connected together wrong. The color coded staps were in the wrong order.

Thanks for the reply back, I used the 3 point all winter with the back blade on it so I know that should not be the issue.

I would check the hose connection again just to make sure. I also had another incident where I didnt prop up the hose connections far enough away from the three point attachment and it cought on it while raising\lowering the box blade and jarred the connection loose When you move the lever to lift do you hear any sounds coming from the transmission? have you checked the linkage to the lever just to make sure it didnt come loose? How is the fluid level?

Thanks cdaigle430,
You were right, I checked the hose connection and they were pulled apart enough that they did not fall apart to notice they were disconnected, fluid level was full & at the time I was trying to diagnose it there was no noise coming from the transmission as if it wanted to move up when pulling the lever. I feel like a dumb *** now for not checking the hoses before this. You saved me a bunch of money that I would of spent at the dealer & who knows if my local dealer would of told me that or they would of ripped me off on parts & labor &did nothing but reconnect the hoses. My local dealer does not have a good reputation here.

Thanks again for the tip on checking the hose connection.

Good call, cdaigle! I had that same thing happen to me once: in lowering the 3PT, it caught the hose and pulled it apart-- completely apart, so the problem was obvious. Sorry I didn't think of that, coin1909; glad you got it fixed.

(Would that be a 1909VDB? I used to collect those when I was a kid, but never found that one. My brother's & my two collections, Lincoln pennies & mercury dimes, were stolen, however, back in 1965 or so. Bummer. Never got back into it after that.)

Yes it would be, I do have the 1909 S VDB in fine condition, worth a few bucks now. The mint only made 480,000 of the S VDB in 1909.

Thought so. It's coming back to me… San Francisco mint, designed by… Victor Brenner or something like that? My collection, again, in 1965, was pretty complete except for a few of the rarer ones. I didn't figure I'd ever get the 1909 S VDB. Memories. (Sorry to digress!)
