Yes, the tank schematic is from jdparts for the 3320. Should look exactly like that. Poke around at that site, and as well, get yourself a copy of the service technical manual for the 3320. Well worth the few bucks..
And...
I wouldn't trust the fuel even if it did "Look" good. At a minimum, drain the bottom of the tank.. keep it in a bucket or old fuel can so not to dump it on the ground. Just not worth the risk...IMO. If there is sludge and bad fuel with possible algae, I wouldn't want to push it into the fuel pump and injectors.

I would also have picked up a Deere battery of the same rather than one with "similar" specs and sizing. Not much room for error if it is like my 4300. Deere products are good. Scrimp somewheres else. :D

But it sounds like it is yours to do with what you want. ;)

Done.
When I go to pick it up old fuel out new fuel in. Probably spin a new filter on too? You have online place you like to get stuff like that??

I got lucky - when I came down from cloud nine and started looking the tractor over I lifted the hood and the battery was as dead as Hmmmmmm Elvis, but no leakage. I did pick up a different battery similar specs and sizing.
Do you think the fuel could actually be ok? Looking into the tank with flashlight didn't show any stuff or 5 1/2 years sitting don't even chance it???
Another question - is it ok to drive it out of storage unit to trailer then get it back home and have it serviced?? or again don't even chance it drain it and replace it???

Yes, "you got lucky" with this find = so don't jinx it. Get it onto the trailer (that was also part of the deal) and take it directly to a reputable dealership for a FULL servicing that will ensure that it is up to scratch. The oil has been sitting there for over 5 years too so have that changed.

Also, have them (or remember to do it yourself) check the torque on all of the wheel lugs... there are many stories here on TBN about wheels falling off new tractors.

As beenthere said, "Scrimp somewheres else."

Go to your deere dealer for filters too. You are beginning to worry me...

No one said inspect, inspect and cross your fingers about the trailer tires. If the trailer was in a dark no sunlight place they may be OK. Electric brakes working OK on the trailer and is the electric brake controller working on the tow vehicle?

No dealer close by.
Was looking for online supplier of JD parts.
Not about to feed a Deere something it doesn't like.

After fuel drained and replaced and new fuel filter do you think it is ok to drive it 100' to waiting trailer?

Did inspect tires they are new but sitting out in elements and have some cracking but look good enough to tow back.
Almost 100% inflated and storage place said they never added air to them.
Hooked my truck to trailer elec. all lights work just no brakes (one axle has them) never towed trailer with brakes will need to look into that.
3320 = 2900lbs trailer = 2300lbs auger, scraper and misc = 800lbs maybe total 6000lbs my truck can tow 7000 possibly ok w/out electric breaks

Go online with the part numbers (get them at jdparts.com) and Deere stores that sell online pop up in the search. I think one is called Greenparts store, or something to that effect. Shows prices.
Will keep our fingers crossed for the "move".

If I told you what I'm paying for the tractor, box scraper, 9" auger (all with the paint barely smudged) and car hauler trailer your jaw would hit the floor.

Thanks for the response vtsnowedin.

I assume that means you practically stole it. :licking:. I do feel sorry for the guy that finally got just what he wanted in that tractor then had something happen so he almost never got to use it. It happens to way too many of us and is a good reminder to "seize the day" both with your tractor projects and good times with your loved ones.
And yes don't dig her any six foot deep holes until after you have built up an attaboy list.

Does the engine and transmission oil need some attention before starting a 3720 that has been sitting for 5.5 years?
