Good day.
I was wondering if anyone has replaced the OEM hazard flasher unit with an automotive version. Seems to me that $78 is a lot to pay for a simple signal flasher.

I plan to investigate this further and, if I get no responses to this post, I'll post what I find.
Thanks in advance for any info you might pass along.

Have you pulled your flasher unit to see how many terminals it has. It may be the same as a standard automotive flasher unit. Most are just a 2 prong flasher.

To TBN from Alabama. I don't understand why you would be thinking of doing that. My flasher on my L3200 work just like the ones on my car do.

Yeah, I too laughed at the price, once I got up from the floor. Hence the search for a replacement. I'll do what others have suggested and take the original unit to an automotive parts store to see if there is one that will work as a replacement. Thanks, all, for your inputs.

Please come back and tell us how you solved it. Many others might eventually have the same dilemma.

OK, quick history. Bought this tractor used a few years ago and the hazard lights were missing from the read deck. just got around to installing some replacements and that is when I realized things were not as the factory made them. Seems the turn signals (didn't know the tractor had them) had been removed as well!
Took the flasher unit out and it bench checked fine. No schematic, but past experience guided me. Found that the flasher unit never got +12V applied.
Long story short, I fed 12V to the flasher from the module mounted next to it, ran a wire from the load terminal of the flasher, through a toggle switch I mounted on the dash next to the light switch, to the new lights I installed on the rear deck. I isolated the OEM flasher switch and wiring from this new circuit and all works well. Maybe someday I'll look into restoring the turn signals, but chances are I'll just use hand signals if I take the tractor on the road.
Thanks for everyone's encouragement and suggestions.

Good for you, not to many use turn signals now, ( I don't ) whats more important are the 4 way flashers.

This a photo from a JD4300. Not a Kubota, but JD wants a huge sum for their combo
hazard/turn flasher, too. The flasher is yellow, held down with a tie strap.

Anyway, I subbed an auto flasher, which I had in stock, so saved the $8 they want at
the auto parts store. If you look closely, you can also see that the electonic hour meter
is replaced with a $25 unit, and the turn signal hole is capped off.

My Kioti's turn signal switch powers my work lights, front and rear. Never saw a use
for turn signals on a tractor. When you drive down the highway, you should use
hazard flashers, which disable the turn signals.
