I can't thank you enough for your responses. Unfortunately, I have not looked at the tractor yet, planning to do so Saturday.

I'm still a little apprehensive, just don't know enough about them. From what it sounds like, they're good tractors and more than likely shouldn't have trouble.....if it was maintained properly. I received additional pictures and a video, the FEL lifts the tractor no problem with low RPMs.

As mentioned before, it's a 4 wheel drive tractor. Is there any way to easily test the 4x4 without putting a load on the tractor and spinning the tires?

I'm just having an issue with dropping 11K for a tractor that's 25 years old.

Thank you all for your advice, I really impressed with all the knowledge on this board.....thx again!

You are getting a lot of tractor for 11k,they do hold their value well.We purchased a L3000DT (1992)with just the FEL for $9500 last year.

Are some implements included in this price? If so, what specifically and perhaps pictures of them would be helpful . I've rarely seen tractors priced less than $6000 and that's usually w/o a front loader. Rarely do I see any decent ones with a FEL less than $10,000.

Check the tires closely for cuts, gouges, wear, etc. The rears especially, as they are not cheap. Test the lifting power of the FEL and make sure it holds. Same for rear lift arms. But the age doesn't really bother me.

Here are a few newer ones in my area. Just FYI

For a data point I bought my M4700 for about $12K at public auction. It had 1400 hours and was well maintained. .
Came with 2 rear remotes and a canopy.

I've had to put on new front tires and several hydraulic hoses, probably $800 all told.

That tractor in question looks good and if all tires are great seems to be a fair price. How are you going to transport it? Does it have remotes? What are the "disc implements"?

If you do not get it someone else will end up with a good tractor. I bought mine on a impulse at auction 33 years ago. Man I was questioning everything. Well 33 years later I could set it in the yard and get my money back on any Saturday. Most people in town have seen the tractor working over the years. it was one of the first around. Some parts are hard to get, but most yards have parts available. I have only had to replace a water pump. Good luck. This tractor is heavy for a reason that was the way it was built.

Parts should not be a problem. I had a 1983 Kubota B6200 and never had a problem getting parts from the dealer.

....After looking at other Kubotas, the three things stuck out about this tractor 1) the weight, this tractor weighs approximately 1000 lbs more than a comparable newer L Series Kubota, I assume the older Kubotas were just more heavy duty, 2)the motor, it's a 5 cylinder with 45 horsepower.....I plan to look at this tractor over the weekend. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for? I assume the normal stuff......hydraulic leaks, engine leaks, smoke on start up etc. If there is anything in particular, I would love to know before my 2 1/2 hour drive. Attached is a picture of the tractor as well.....hopefully it copied over

Anyway, if you kind folks would be nice enough to provide your input, I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Sorry I'm late seeing this thread - hope you found the tractor to be as good as it looks. Sent you a pm. The L3750 is one of the L3 machines that Kubota built its reputation on in the U.S. To find one in nice condition is lucky - hope it's everything it should be and, if so, I hope you take delivery soon !!

I have a bigger brother Kubota L5450. Same basic design, and a very solid tractor. I use that tractor more than I ever thought would, just plain reliable and the 5 cyl is smoooooooth.
