What do you need it for? There are several variations.

A Hi-Lift jack may work also.

Need for stretching chain link and barb wire mainly. Ive seen the strap verses the cable models but I'm thinking the metal cable would suit me better. Seen some that have a single cable and others that had the two. Probably a couple ton model would suffice.

I had a 3/4 ton Maasdam rope puller that worked with 1/2" 3 strand rope. Used it for all sorts of projects. Pulled a few car engines with it. Not as powerful as the wire rope models, but because you can use any length of rope with it, in many ways it's actually more useful. Used to keep it in the trunk of my car with a 50' hank of nylon for vehicle extraction on snowy days. I knew that my driving skills were not as good as I thought they were when I was driving.

I have one of the wire rope ones, now. It's useful when trying to suggest a different fall line to a tree, but I miss the rope one - I never had to slacken the line to reset the hook.
Yeah. Its a keeper. Did you lose it? They still make em I think.

I have one similar to this but mine is probably 100 yr old and has a socket for a 5' wood handle. No idea of the amount of pull. We pulled a ton truck that had a cord and a quarter of pulp wood on it out of a mud hole with one just like it.

With the cable come a long the main thing is to get one that has a solid cast drum and teeth on the side. The cheap one has the teeth made out of stamped steel. They look okay until you need to really pull something. The 4 pieces of stamped metal spread and you have no teeth on the spool. Handles should be well made also. Any sort of side pull will fold them over. Good to have around.

Just bought a Hi Lift Xtreme 60" on Amazon for $110 delivered. Has a winch top for use with a chain. Hi-Lift X-Treme Jack - top of the line all-cast jack will winch, clamp, or spread up to 5,000 lbs. | Hi Lift Jack Company I expect to get stuck as soon as the ground thaws: I'll let you know.... Also bought 2" and 3" tree straps.

This one is $50 and works just as well.

Farm Jacks - 42" 3-1/2 Ton Farm Jack

To the OP, get a cable come a long for less than $50 and the fence stretcher suggested by XFAXMAN.
