Husqvarna 142 Leaks Oil Badly

My Husky 142 leaks oil while just sitting on the shelf to the point that it will drain the tank. After cutting some trees this week I cleaned it up and put it away only to find a large pool of oil the next day. I'm really fed up with this so I disassembled the saw, filled it with oil and set it on the bench to see where the oil was coming from and it didn't take long. I've attached a picture with an arrow pointing to the problem. In the exploded view part #11 is referenced as the "Tube: oil vent" and it looks like it could go in this hole but because it is shown from the opposite side I can't tell. I ran a wire through the hole and it does go back into the oil tank but there is no tube in it. Could this be the source of all my troubles? Comments welcomed.

I have owned a few of similar/exact model Husqvarna. I never had a problem with them leaking from the vent.
From viewing my PDF, it appears that the vent is just a straight tube with no "valve". Seems to me that there should be a vent valve to prevent oil from escaping through the tube. All vents I have dealt with, are simply a rubber one way design that allows air in but not out.
Even with vent tube completely removed, oil should not escape unless chainsaw is stored on its chain side.
I would drain oil tank and look inside for this tube. If it is present, it may be leaking where tube exits tank. This could be sealed. If tube is absent, I believe I would just purchase the vent tube--may be a one/way valve inside?
What you are describing is like punching a hole in a container--fluid would drain to the hole and stop.
If tank drains completely, I would think you have a leak at bottom of tank.
