You lucky dog. I can smell the oak from here.

Yeah, it was smelling good out there. Oak, Cherry, & Maple. I gave the maple away to my neighbor. Got to get back out there today to haul some more logs and throw some more brush on the fire! :fire::fire:
I figure I now have about 3 yrs of firewood ready to process behind the garage. :cool2:

Hired some pro's to help me clear some land for a house I'm building for my daughter. Now I've got a lot of logs to haul about 1/4 mile back to the house. Spent 7 hrs today hauling and probably have 10-12 hrs. Left to do this weekend (lots of tractor time. :) )

How do you like the forks and thumb for doing that job?? Looks like a good rig for transporting logs. Do you hand load the forks or can you push into or under the pile and come up with a load ??
A pretty good bunch of firewood there.

Well they havent been tested yet LOL but they are 5 foot wide and will take a 24 inch long log. And about 4 foot tall. I used some 4x4 and a 2x4 stacked to make the ''skids'' on the bottom . to easily get the forks under it. I used pallets a few time but unless you have a real clear view of the fork tips its bad. Ill be able to take one at a time inside my basement for the fire.Presently ive been using heating oil tanks cut in half. they are durable but dont hold as much. The metal roofing was an afterthought as I thought id just use a tarp.So results will have to wait for many months lol

I love using the forks, I can just push in and grab what I need, sometimes some of the smaller stuff gets turned sideways and I have to throw a few on by hand by not too often.

My thumb is only 36" long and it needs to be longer, plans are too build an extension for it!!! :construction:

The ground froze up pretty good here last night, so I skidded out this red oak log using the Farmi winch. I was impressed that the winch yanked it right out of the ice that was holding it to the ground. Hit a bit of a soft spot when I was driving to the firewood yard, so I had to drop it and winch it back in.
