jd 640 loader joystick icv switch not working

Hi. I have a 6420 with a 640 loader. Icv switch not working. I saw on a posting on this site that an omron icv switch part no. D2jw-01k11 would work to fix this. Just wondered how I go about changing this part myself. And has anyone else already done this before? Or know the switch that works forsure. Jd wants 1500$ as they want to sell complete new joystick. looking for advice. Darryl

No. My switch is for the side paddle that you put hand into when grabbing the joystick. It has a 4 way joystick. 2 buttons on top and toggle in front of joystick that would run a 3rd and 4th remote Operation if needed. Although I'm just using it for normal raise and tilt operation. It's a 2004 640 msl loader

D2jw-01k11 is a SPDT snap action switch with a hinged lever (not shown in picture) has three connectors COM, NO, NC.

Made by Omron Electronics. You can buy from Mouser.com for $9.70 plus shipping (unsure if they sell to Canada)

If you go to Mouser.com and search D2jw-01k11, then click on: data sheet, you can see drawings of the switch with the lever, dimensions, etc.

yes my joystick is the armrest one. I believe the switch thats causing the problem is the switch that is controlled by the side paddle as a safety feature. It would be nice to eliminate it all together. It has a lock out toggle switch that can be used to prevent harm if needed.

In that case, just pull it apart. I suspect it will only have two wires. Connect them together. Just make sure all operators are aware this has been bypassed. Same to, inform new owner if you ever sell, or replace the switch first.

Were you able to replace the d2jw-01k11. I have a JD 6420 and the joy stick just stopped working. I am planning to replace the switch. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Were you able to bypass the switch?
