I want to run a pipe or hose under ground about 40 yards to supply a sprinkler to my garden. I have a 4 cycle Honda trash pump that threads into a garden hose.
I would like to be able to tie the pump in on one end near the pond so I can water during dry periods.

I am in the north, so I have to be able to get the water out as well in the fall at the lowest point, and it needs to be buried as it goes through the yard, that must be mowed..

Any ideas? I am thinking I don't want it below the frost line which is 36" in my area, maybe 6-12" deep.

Thanks

When I ran electric from my house to my barn I added a second conduit and put a garden hose and a rope in it. It hooks up to my outside faucet at the house so I have water at the barn. I use my air compressor to blow it out in the winter. The rope is to pull another hose through if the original ever breaks or rots.

Also, the conduit is only buried at 18", which is local code for the electric that was run.

poly well pipe... a 3/4" x 100' foot spool of low pressure is under 20 bucks

Poly pipe. Consider a larger diameter like maybe 1 1/2 in. Because of the type of pump.

This. It's cheaper than garden hose, fittings go on with a screwdriver, cut with a knife. Much lower resistance than garden hose. You can bury it with a plow. The pipe stands up to freezing (although the fittings don't).

I used poly pipe, I use my air compressor to blow out the lines every fall. I think mine was 3/4 or 1'' homedepot/lowes had it in stock.

I would use schedule 80 pvc pipe with glued joints. A little care in cleaning, priming and gluing the joints and it will not leak. 10 foot joints at my Lowes are less than $2 each and you can buy them with a bell on one end rather than putting coupling on the end. I would install a clean out point on the high end so I could blow out the line with compressed air each winter. You could also blow a sponge thru the pipe to get out any water that may lay in a low spot.
