Do we really need all the electronic features in new tractors?

If they really want to make an electronic feature that's worth something. Have a device that electrocutes squirrels when they get under my Suburban and decide to chew on wire bundles. That would help.

They got you too huh?

The only problem I EVER had with my Toyota Sequoia was when some dang critter chewed a harness which resulted in a blown ABS & Speed sensor...to the tune of about $500!!!

Expensive rodents.

Robotic cats?

Amazing, all of you want the basics yet you are talking chatting about it on the root of all evil, the computer. If everyone wanted very low featured machines that's what the manufacturers would provide. Brand loyalty only goes so far. My Kubota dealer had his "Dealer Days" last week. One of every Kubota and larger New Holland model lined up in front. They keep the no frills models on hand and sell one now and then but the hand printed signs with the buyer's name printed on them were on the tractors with the frills. For the no frills buyers I think Oliver Wendall Douglas will sell you his Hoyt-Clagwell.

Assumptive projection, sledgehammering the vastly different needs of computer and tractor users together to make what is a rather facile point.

It's the starlings here. They can build a highly flammable nest in a matter of hours.

Thanks. How many hours on your Tiger 70 and can I ask what you paid for it please?

Glad Aussie made it to the finals. Going to be a real ding-dong backyard brotherly battle at the MCG on Sunday. Got the TV booked and will put beers in the fridge.

Cost me $35k with loader, canopy, stone bucket, full tank of fuel and delivery. I threw on TnT at the last minute for another $700. I bought new because buying a second hand tractor is a bit risky for my limited mechanical know how.

Pretty stable on slight slopes with the wheels inboard, so they could go wider. Good ground clearance with 24 inch wheels on the front and 30 inch on the rear. Gearing is ok with 12 forward and 3 reverse. Like I said it is economy without the ePTO and hyro anything but good enough for me. Comfortable to sit on with work good space. Fuel economy is good and a 60l tank is good. I miss the F/R lever like I said and because this is old school you need to pause for the RPM to drop and stuff to align when changing gears or they'll crunch. Nice power.

I'm looking forward to the game. Love seeing the two smallest country in the final. McCallum vs Warner, though I reckon McCallum in form at the right time. I'm flying to Syd half way through so I'll need to find a pub when I get there.

I don't mind the gizmo's as long as they are functional. For example. I would like the 3pl buttons on the rear guards like the JD's because it's functional, sensible and is a significant safety feature. I would like the ePTO because the saves me $$$ when flail mowing but none of these features do I have because they come on tractors that also come with hydrostatic transmissions, cabs and a raft of other stuff I don't need. Those tractors certainly don't cost what mine did.

China makes lousy low tech machines. Buy one.

Thanks for this. Was also prompted to take another look at the SDF offerings, specifically the Deutz-Fahr Agrolux recently. If it weren't for the fact that it was a good bugger I trust who suggested them, I would have maintained my bias against Indian made tractors. So, I plan on taking another look at these. I note you've had a few small issues with the SAME tiger, but nothing major.

Feel a bit for S.Africa though, they are a quality side.

Hopefully B.Mac can hang around long enough to get under their skin and the sledging gets progressively worse until they lose the plot. Also hoping Ross Taylor doesn't run any of his own teammates out like he is prone to do, especially as with there being more 2's and 3's at the MCG than we are used to over here, he'll have more opportunity to screw up the run calls...again.

Aus are such a strong team, it would be one heck of an achievement to topple them, in front of 100k spectators in their own back yard. Bring it on.
