Hi Folks;
A couple of weeks ago, we drove across the line to Lynden WA to buy our new Woods BSM 72 box blade.
VERY NICE piece of equipment. Worth the long drive (almost 200 miles & 4 ferries for the return trip) and the extra bucks, after seeing the cheesy stuff that was available locally.
While at the dealership, I asked if they could supply straight QH bushings to fit the clevis style lower attach points.
Seems no-one had ever asked for them before, so I bought a pair of the standard step bushings to cut down to size.
With more & more attachments being built with clevis lower attach lugs, it seems like someone out there should be making simple bushings to fit. Seems a waste to build a stepped bushing, drill cross holes in it & supply roll pins all so I can hack off the fat end & toss all the extra bits in the scrap bucket. Sheesh!
Anyone out there know where I could get some straight bushings to do the job?
On the bright side, the BB works beautifully. I levelled out the driveway on Monday & it was a breeze. No drama at all... Just a smooth surface after a few passes. I crawled along at the lowest speed possible & kept my hand on the 3 point lever. Very small adjustments & slow speed did the trick. I know it's gonna be even easier when Brian sends me my hyd. top link.
Can hardly wait till everything dries out enough to start levelling our small pasture!
My only complaint (if you can call it that) is how awkward it is to remove the R pins for the 2 outer rippers. Fixed that in a hurry by looping a knotted piece of cord through the R pins. A quick tug on the cord & the pin's out. No sweat & no tools required. I even put cord on the draw bar pins while I was at it. They are really hard to reach with the backhoe installed.
Cheers all. Dan
