Fuel cut off and Bowl Assembly leak

I have a YANMAR 2200. The fuel cutoff assembly handle drips every ten seconds and gradually empties my tank. The hoses to and from the assembly are dry. The bowl is dry as long as the cutoff handle is down(open position) so fuel follows the handle and drips off the handle tip. When the handle is up(shut) fuel still leaks but instead of traveling up and dripping from the tip of the handle it leaks onto the assembly, down the bowl and drips off bottom of bowl. My impression: the handle is leaking. I see the fuel bowl assembly sold on line for $50.00. I also see the handle sold for about $6.50. Has anyone successfully replaced only the handle? so as to not throw away the rest of the assembly? Any recommendations?

There is an O ring for the bowl. If you are sure the O ring isn't missing and leaking around the owl. Just my opinion,,,,I would Just replace the entire assy

Inspect and repair as necessary.

Take a look at this diagram for YM2000. I assume your fuel filter is the same. The o-ring (7) can be replaced after you remove screw (8) to take out the handle assembly.

You need to pinch the input hose shut, before taking the handle out.

i assume like the others have said you have an old and or cracked o ring somewhere in the assembly. If you dont want to replace the whole thing just go through it and replace every o ring you can find.

Got the handle out. Have ordered from Hoye the O-ring(7)and the Sleeve (number 5 on same diagram).
