If indeed this is supposed to be a replacement for the 3016/3616, I am wondering why the 16's had such a relatively short run. The new style only came out in 2012. Is Mitsubishi making the 1533 as well?
Buying Advice Any opinions on 1533?

Plate states that the unit is manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi. My guess is that Tier IV changes were the reason for new model designations, but that is just a guess. i quickly looked at the 1533 as it sat next to a 3616 cab (customer's tractor - no 3616s were available in the area) and they sure look alike from the outside.

The 15 series was replaced by the 16 series in 2008, the end of 2008 if I recall correctly. At that time, the similar tractor was a 2615, 2815 and 3215. In late 2008 and early 2009 that changed to 2816 and 3316. Then as you said, later the 2816/3316 were changed to 3016/3616. Pretty normal changes. These current changes are driven by the Tier III to Tier IV changeover. The 1533 are still built in Japan by Mitsubishi.

I think the 16 series tractors were out a few years before 2012. They had engine and sheet metal changes then, but the 16 series was around before 2012, I think 2008 and replaced the 15 series machines.

Exactly, and I am not kidding. I have a new local Mahindra dealer at about 2 miles away, Dave is still my dealer right at 650 miles driveway to driveway. :thumbsup:

Google says 1809 miles and only 25 hours without traffic. Maybe the next tractor!

Yeah, these new 15 series tractors are definitely Mitsu tractors. When I just went to the Mitsubishi Ag website they have a nice picture of a 3616 and MAX 26/28 on the front page: https://www.mam.co.jp/english/
If you flip over to the non-english version, you can see the new 15 series. Looks like that are GA series Mitsu tractors. Maybe a the GA28 and GA30?? ???????? ???? ??? ????
