My BX 2660 started choking down like it isn't getting any fuel when I'm going up hill. Even when I load it on a trailer, it will do it. Ran fine this winter pushing snow. I recently changed oil and the air filter. Now while rolling the yard it has developed this issue. I can have it have half throttle and it will act like it is starving for fuel when I get the front end up higher than the rear end and if I push her to idle and stop it will be ok. Then I baby it until I get to the top. Runs fine on level ground.

Thanks in advance for your help.

First check fuel filter by engine and one under the deck by fuel pump, sounds like one is plugged.

agreed on the fuel filter. I just did my 50 hour service and bought some but my dealer said I probably didn't need them yet. when I asked how he knew, he said she still runs good right? I said yes then he smiled and said that's how. The BX will till you when she needs one as they are finicky about such things. Id try that first like David says.

Thanks I was figured fuel filters may be a culprit but wanted more ideals.

Fuel filters and that bottom one is fun to get too. Bottom one was the worst. It gets the fuel first.

After I took the hood off I did some looking and below is my finding.

Top filter only was 1/3 or less full. When I would pick up the front of the tractor with floor jack no fuel to the bottom of the filter inside the bulb. Pretty easy to figure out after seeing that.

Exactly what my BX started doing... replaced both filters and presto... stopped sputtering going up hills. A lot of discussion on the subject here on TBN. I am going to replace both with a single B series filter and mount it near the engine (as others have done) to make maintenance more pleasurable. :cool2:
