Installed new loader valve - now 3pt lift won't work

If you only have pressure and return hoses then you don't have PBY attached to your tractor. Have you read these instructions?

I can see he doesn't have it right yet.

I thought I was clear on how to fix the problem.

Take that steel plug out of the C port, leave the hex screw in place.

Connect a hose from the C port going to the 3pt.

Your tank line should still be connected.

Every hyd valve has a tank line and must go to tank.

If you installed the hex plug and the steel plug in the C port, you made the valve a closed center valve. Bad move.

Are you positive you installed a PBY plug or did you possibly install a closed center plug in lieu of a PBY plug?

The valve came as an open center valve with a steel plug in C port, and an optional PB hex screw with instructions.

He did both.

But there's no 3rd hose from valve to tractor.

Tell him he has to get a new hose and run from the PB port to 3pt.

We have already said that in so many words.

JeepsAreBuilt ,

Remove that steel plug in C port, and leave the hex screw in place.

Get a new hose and run it from the C port to the 3pt.

Today, I went back out and tried again.. after reading your replies.. I believe I do understand how you guys are trying to tell me to do it. Except for the 3rd hose ? Is that my problem ? Well I took more pictures of how I did it again, after doing it again, it neither the loader or 3pt works. I also took a pic of my old valve.

Me holding the PB hex plug up to the "C" port where I installed it.

Heres the output hose hooked up to the "C" port after the hex plug installed. Input hose is going in the left side of the valve, Output hose is hooked to the "C" port and going back down to the 3pt control valve. Just 2 hoses.. no 3rd hose.

Heres my old valve that I replaced.. It worked fine, except that the bucket was dropping slowly, and I thought the pressure was bleeding though the valve. I tried putting in new o-rings with no luck. 3pt worked fine and the loader operated fine. It only had 2 hoses.. one "in" and one "out". I do see a port plugged off labled "PB"

I'm no hydraulic expert, but I believe the extra port on top with a "T" by it is supposed to go to tank. There must be something internal that is plugged or not routed correctly to keep the power beyond from working now. Does the hose on the pressure side of the valve jerk and get more rigid when the tractor is started?

It appears from viewing photo of the old valve that PB port was plugged with no hose attached to that port. IS THIS CORRECT IE old valve had pressure hose attached to "in port on valve" and return hose attached "to tank port"????

What don't you understand about my post.

Again, after screwing the PB hex screw in the C port, make a new hose and connect it to the C port and the 3pt.

Then run a hose from the tank port to tank.

You are making me look bad, as I thought I was perfectly clear on how to do the job right.
