See post 41. The problems in those wells existed long before fracking in the area.

Strongly disagree: Cite facts and sources. I call BS on this statement. Done, gone all said!

Penn state and I think it was Duke University traced the methane that was in those wells to biological not shale methane.
http://pubs.usgs.gov/fs/fs123-00/fs123-00.pdf "Reports from the 1800’s document gas
bubbles in water wells, in streams, and in
fields after heavy rains; this evidence suggests
that migration has always existed."

Study Proves Fracking Didn
A research study appears in the May-June 2013 issue of Groundwater, a peer-reviewed scientific journal, that completely debunks the notion that fracking was the cause of methane contamination in local water wells in Dimock, PA (as famously claimed by Josh Fox and Gasland)he study looks at test results for 1,701 water wells around Susquehanna County, PA (where Dimock is located), both close to and far from shale drilling. What does the cold, hard data show? Methane is everywhere in Susquehanna County groundwater–and it has been for hundreds of years.

forgeblast - don't even try. jiz knows he is right and he isn't going to look at reality - data just gets in the way of what he knows to be true by his own revelation.

if they can come and do anything they want, then why is the Landman coming to see you?? The Landman coming with his "we don't negotiate" story tells me you have more say than you think you have. I follow gomarcellusshale.com, where these things are discussed in detail.

Yeah. The phrase "we don't negotiate" is often said near the beginning of negotiations. If you accept the phrase "we don't negotiate" at face value, then you lose the negotiation.

My boss would always accept this and say great... meeting over.

Then the other party would have to do some quick back peddling...

I doubt that Jatco would know a Luddite from a stump fence...but he knows what an OG shill is. ..Insults are not appropriate on this forum, according to the rules

So, this story from California is just a hoax of some sort? I don't live there, so maybe someone who does can tell us more?
Documents Reveal Billions Of Gallons Of Oil Industry Wastewater Illegally Injected Into Central California Aquifers

Almost 3 billion gallons of oil industry wastewater have been illegally dumped into central California aquifers that supply drinking water and farming irrigation, according to state documents obtained by the Center for Biological Diversity. The wastewater entered the aquifers through at least nine injection disposal wells used by the oil industry to dispose of waste contaminated with fracking fluids and other pollutants.

Regarding the role of EPA in regulating fracking:
Federal Report EPA Fracking Oversight Not Enough

The agency's proper role in fracking oversight has been hotly debated as the shale gas industry grows and various states attempt to regulate it on their own. In fact, "the EPA cannot regulate the fracking process, because a 2005 law exempted from federal oversight the practice of injecting fluids into wells at a high pressure to break shale and retrieve oil and gas," The Hill reported.

However, the GAO said the EPA has a role in fracking oversight that it is neglecting.

I don't know how the EPA can effectively perform oversight over something that is exempt from federal oversight. Sounds like a lawyer's field day.
